Why Custom?

options Options OPTIONS!

Mass-produced products will always mean limitations; although the catalog companies have done an excellent job of getting their product to a huge demographic of purchasers, it is at the cost of options. They offer a good quality product with limited selection of fabrics, colors, and frame sizes, and if your home doesn't fit their scale you're out of luck. Having the same jeans as half a million people and being asked if you bought them at a high-end boutique is one thing, and can even be an icebreaker to a conversation; but being asked if your living room was Fall Catalog 2006 pages 36 & 37 is not the most flattering compliment on your home decor choice.

On the other hand, the word "Custom" usually implies "out of my price range", however that doesn't have to be the case. Newly Modern is a design and furniture studio that is dedicated to helping you achieve a personalized, custom home while staying within the price range of the catalog stores. The furniture is made locally, and that is better for maintaining a high quality product, means better delivery times, and is of course better for our local economy. At Newly Modern you can have your style made to fit you and your home.

This Japanese-style platform bed was designed with the client in mind: the style they wanted, the size that fit their bedroom, and a special feature in that the slats that support the mattress are 1" inch lower at the foot than at the head, based on a doctors recommendation to help with acid reflux.  The bed was also made from mahogany rather than press-board, took 6 weeks to make and deliver, and came in at a price point $1000 under that of a "Brand Name" bed that size.
